Where should the Book online button go on a clinic website?
Put it where a patient is already looking: on the first screen of the homepage, in the header on every page and again at the end of each service page. Give it one name, such as Book online, and make sure it opens your booking page on a phone in one tap.
- Numbers you can check
Our figures come from a public scan of clinic homepages, and we publish how we counted.
How we count - Your accounts stay yours
Your domain, website and online profile are in your name from day one.
How we work - Month to month
No long contract. Thirty days’ notice, and your accounts and numbers stay with you.
Read the FAQ - No patient information needed
We work on your website, profiles and settings. Patient records stay in your clinic.

The four places that matter
- The first screen of the homepage, next to your headline. A patient shouldn’t scroll to find it.
- The header, so it follows the visitor from page to page. On a phone, keep it visible or in a bar that stays in view.
- The end of each service page, after the explanation of who you help and what a visit involves.
- The footer and the contact page, for anyone who reads to the bottom.
Also add it to your online profile as the booking link. See the booking button on Google.
What to call it
Choose one label and use it everywhere. “Book online” or “Book a visit” works. Avoid “Submit”, “Enquire” or “Get started”, which don’t say what happens next. If you take new patients differently, say so on the button or beside it, such as “Book a first visit”.
What it should do
- Open your booking software’s public page, in the same window or a new one that’s easy to leave.
- Work on a phone without an account or app.
- Start with the visit type for new patients.
- Get a patient to a booked time in as few taps as possible. See adding online booking to your site.
Make it stand out
- Use a colour that contrasts with the page, and use it only for booking.
- Make it large enough to tap with a thumb.
- Keep one main button per screen. A row of equal buttons makes people hesitate.
- Don’t hide it in a menu on mobile.
Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.
Test it
- Pick up your phone and open your homepage on mobile data.
- Count how many taps it takes to reach a booked time.
- Ask someone outside the clinic to do the same, without help.
In our November 2026 scan of 21,478 physio and chiro homepages, 49% of physio and 45% of chiro homepages had no online booking we could find. See the study.
Questions owners ask
Should I embed the calendar on the page?
A plain button that opens your booking page is lighter and often faster. An embed can slow the page. See how fast a clinic site should load.
Can I have a phone number as well?
Yes. Show both. Some patients prefer to talk.
