Your Google reviews belong on your website too (check the rules first)

Plenty of physio and chiro homepages show no reviews or star rating anywhere on the page, even when the clinic has dozens of good Google reviews. A new patient just never sees them at the moment they’re deciding.

Before you fix that, there’s one thing to check.

First: what your regulator allows

Physiotherapy and chiropractic are regulated professions, and some regulators limit how clinics use patient testimonials in advertising. In Australia, for example, the national rules for registered health practitioners restrict testimonials in advertising for regulated health services. Several Canadian colleges and some US state boards have their own rules too.

So before you put reviews on your website, look up your college’s or board’s advertising guidance, or ask them. It usually takes one email. The rules differ from place to place, and they can change, so check rather than assume. Nothing below is legal advice.

If reviews are allowed: three ways to show them

A link with your rating. The simplest option: a line near your Book online button that says how many Google reviews you have and links to your Google profile, where patients can read them all. It’s honest, it stays current, and there’s nothing to maintain.

A review feed. Many website platforms and review tools can pull your latest Google reviews onto a page automatically. Choose one that shows reviews in full, with dates, and doesn’t filter out the less glowing ones. A page of only five-star quotes looks curated, because it is.

A few quoted reviews, with permission. If you’d rather pick two or three, ask each patient first, use their words exactly, and use only the name they’re happy with. Don’t edit a review to make it sound better.

What to avoid

Where to put them

Near the booking button, not on a separate testimonials page that nobody visits. The point is to reassure someone at the exact moment they’re about to book. Showing reviews works best when new ones keep arriving, so build the habit of asking patients for reviews too.

Not sure whether your homepage shows reviews at all? Our website grader checks for a review feed or star rating in a few seconds.

If you’re not sure what your regulator allows or how your profile looks to a new patient, we’ll check your Google profile and website and tell you what we find.
