Online booking for dental practices that fills the chair at 9 pm, not just 9 am

A parent finishes work, remembers the child is due for a check-up and opens your website. The office is closed. If the only choice is to call tomorrow, some of them won’t. They will book with whichever practice lets them pick a time tonight.

We set up and connect online booking for independent dental practices, using the tool you already have or helping you choose one. Your front desk keeps control of what can be booked and when.

  • Numbers you can check

Our figures come from a public scan of clinic homepages, and we publish how we counted.

    How we count
  • Your accounts stay yours

Your domain, website and online profile are in your name from day one.

    How we work
  • Month to month

No long contract. Thirty days’ notice, and your accounts and numbers stay with you.

  • No patient information needed

We work on your website, profiles and settings. Patient records stay in your clinic.

What we found on dental websites

In November 2026 we looked at the homepages of 10,794 dental practices in Canada and the US. The full tables are in our dental website study.

1. 39% had no online booking link or software we could find

Canadian practices came in higher at 45% across 2,255 sites. US practices were at 38% across 8,508.

2. Fewer calls for routine visits

Patients who can book a hygiene visit themselves don’t need to ring. The phone stays clear for people who need a person: new patients with questions, worried parents and emergencies.

3. A clearer morning

Online bookings arrive with the visit type already chosen, so the schedule is less guesswork. Someone still checks new-patient requests each morning, which takes minutes.

4. A written rule for the awkward cases

What happens when someone books the wrong visit type, wants a time that isn’t offered or needs to cancel late. We write a short guide so the whole team answers the same way.

5. A review once it has been live a while

We look at what patients booked, which times filled, which visit types caused confusion and where people dropped out. Then we adjust. You keep the final say on every setting.

What we do for dental practices

6. A booking map for your practice

We list the visit types you want patients to book themselves, such as new patient, hygiene, child check-up and consultation, and those you want them to ask about. Your team decides.

7. Connect the tool you already use

If you use Dentrix/Henry Schein, Modento, NexHealth, Doctible or another system, we link the booking page where patients land: homepage, service pages, footer and online profile. Using something else? Tell us. If you’re choosing, we explain differences, but we don’t resell software.

8. Rules that protect your day

Which visit types, how far ahead, how much notice, which providers and which times. We help you set a sensible default so the schedule doesn’t fill with short, awkward gaps.

9. Reminders that cut down no-shows

Where your tool allows it, we configure confirmation and reminder messages in your voice, with an easy way to reschedule. See our guide to reducing patient no-shows.

10. Booking from Google

We add a booking link to your Google Business Profile where Google offers one, and make sure the link goes to the right page. Our booking button guide shows how it works.

11. A check on the whole path

We walk through each booking path on a phone, as a new patient would, up to the final step, and stop before submitting.

The rules for dental booking

Booking touches patient information, so we are careful about what we do and don’t touch.

12. Your software holds the records

Patient details entered through a booking tool live in that tool, under its privacy terms and your own. We don’t access or store patient records. We configure the page and the settings. Ask your software provider where its data is stored and how consent is handled.

13. Wording on booking pages is advertising

A booking page with phrases such as “best dentist” or “cutting edge technology” runs into the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario’s advice against claiming uniqueness or superiority. The same guidance advises against ads that offer reduced rates or other incentives. We keep booking copy plain. Source: RCDSO, the dos and don’ts of advertising.

14. Specialist services

Where a booking option refers to care often provided by a specialist, make clear whether the dentist is a general practitioner or a specialist. Ontario guidance says this, and we apply it elsewhere as good practice.

15. Everything else varies

Privacy law, consent and advertising rules differ by province and state. We read the published guidance for your region and show you what we found. This is not legal advice.

Common problems with dental booking

16. The button exists but nobody finds it

A booking link buried in a menu or on the contact page doesn’t help a patient on a small screen.

17. Every visit looks the same

A patient who wants a child’s first visit sees the same list as one booking wisdom tooth removal. They pick wrong, and the front desk spends the day fixing it.

18. No way to say “I’m in pain”

Online booking is no good for emergencies unless it says so and offers a number to call.

19. Insurance unanswered before booking

Patients who aren’t sure their plan is accepted give up halfway through. A short, accurate note before the form helps.

20. Confirmation emails that look suspicious

Messages from a generic address with no practice name get ignored or filtered.

21. Different tools on different pages

Some practices have one tool for new patients and another for recall. Without a clear path, patients land in the wrong one.

Not sure where your clinic stands? We’ll look at it the way a new patient does and send a short written report. No pitch.

Questions owners ask

Which booking software should we use?

If you have a tool, start there. If you’re choosing, we look at your practice management software and what it supports. We have seen Dentrix/Henry Schein, Modento, NexHealth, Doctible and others, but we don’t claim one suits everyone.

Do you sell the software?

No. We configure and connect what you have or what you choose. You contract with the provider yourself.

Can patients book anything they like?

No. You choose which visit types are available online and which need a call. You can change it any time.

Will it double-book us?

That depends on how your tool syncs with your schedule. We test this and tell you what we find before launch.

Can new patients book online?

Yes, if you turn that on. Some practices prefer a request form for new patients so staff can check insurance. Both are fine.

Do you handle patient information?

No. Records stay in your software. We never access them.

What about emergencies?

We show a clear phone number and your emergency hours beside the booking button. Online booking is for planned visits.

How long does it take?

It depends on the tool and the number of visit types. We give an estimate after looking at your set-up.
